XShell [Expersoft]

XShell is a collection of object-oriented tools for building andintegrating complex distributed software systems. The basic XShellproduct extends the C++ programming language so it can use distributedprocesses as modules (C++ objects). Modules communicate with each otherusing a simple set of member function calls. The member functions hidethe details of communicating across a network to remote modules,including modules running on dissimilar machine architectures andoperating systems. An end-user can specify an XShell system as acollection of XShell modules either before or at runtime. During runtime,the user can monitor XShell system status and dynamically reconfigure theexecuting system.Optional XShell toolkits use advanced software techniques, includingrule-based programming, fuzzy systems, and genetic algorithms. Eachtoolkit produces XShell-compatible modules with object-orientedinterfaces for integration into distributed systems.
